“I’ve lived a lifetime setting high and adventurous sights, never allowing challenges to inhibit what I wanted to accomplish. I gained a clear perspective about health and the persistent commitment of those providing care. I could have selected any healthcare organization in the world to care for me, but the specialists at Deborah focus on treatment far beyond our imagination. Deborah is ‘my’ hospital and I am forever indebted to them.”

In the serene comfort of their Sewell, New Jersey residence, Harry and Adele Larzelere exemplify a spirit of generosity that extends well beyond their local community. As the newest members of Deborah Hospital Foundation’s Heritage Circle Society, their decision to include a bequest in their estate plans speaks volumes about their compassionate nature and steadfast belief in Deborah’s vital mission.
For Harry, the impetus to support Deborah resonated deeply and endured for years. He vividly recalls the exceptional care a dear friend received at Deborah twelve years prior. “The surgeons, the nurses, the entire staff – their care for Bruce was excellent,” Harry recounts with heartfelt appreciation. “That has stayed with me. I’ll never forget it.” This profound personal experience formed the bedrock of their future commitment.
Beyond this powerful connection, Harry and Adele were deeply moved by Deborah’s unwavering dedication to treating all patients, regardless of their financial circumstances. “Deborah treats patients regardless of their financial wherewithal,” Harry emphasizes, his words underscoring a core value that aligns perfectly with their own – to aid all those in need.
During their thoughtful estate planning, they chose to name Deborah Hospital Foundation as a beneficiary in their wills. While they hold a particular appreciation for research – recognizing Deborah’s dedication to “the cutting edge” – Harry and Adele have entrusted the Foundation to allocate their gift where it will achieve the greatest impact.
When considering the legacy they wish to create, their focus remains firmly on the future of medical innovation. “Enabling the continuation of trail-blazing research,” Harry states with conviction, highlights their desire to fuel discoveries that will benefit countless lives. Their hope is simple yet profound: to be remembered as individuals who “cared about and believed in Deborah’s work and its mission.”
For those contemplating their own lasting impact, Harry offers a heartfelt message: “No matter how severe or how involved someone’s cardiac or pulmonary condition is, they would be welcome at Deborah.” He and Adele firmly believe that Deborah stands as a beacon of hope, offering world-class care with unwavering compassion.
Looking ahead, Harry and Adele envision a future where Deborah maintains its focused approach, providing exceptional care without becoming “so big that it’s overwhelming.” They cherish Deborah’s independence and the unique culture that allows it to prioritize patients above all else.
Their decision to give back is not merely an act of financial generosity; it reflects their deeply ingrained values, nurtured by their Christian faith and a lifelong commitment to helping others. The legacy they are passing on to their children and grandchildren – one of belief, togetherness, respect, and love – finds a powerful echo in their support of Deborah.
Harry and Adele Larzelere’s story stands as a testament to the enduring power of compassion and the profound impact a planned gift can have. Their heartfelt commitment serves as an inspiration, inviting us all to consider how we, too, can leave a legacy of hope and healing for future generations at Deborah Hospital Foundation.
